Starring French mime artist Daniel Rovai, this short film satirises the emerging Selfish-Gene / Greed-Is-Good culture of the 80s by setting Chaplin’s classic Tramp character from the dawn of the film age on the streets of London at the dawn of the video age.

Wednesday 13th January 1982, the fifth day of the snow and ice, the first day of the national coal strike. BBC Camera Crews spent the day in five places throughout Britain.

In this clip bulldozers battle through mountainous drifts to open the road to an isolated Welsh village, Aberdaron, on the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales.
